I finally tried this with some silver coins I dug this summer. The first one was this Franklin Half that had black tarnish. I put my coin and the catalyst into the brine solution and turned on the box. I adjusted the voltage to 1.5 volts then immediately noticed the coin was clean. The next coin took about 5 minutes to get to the same point. Now I'm working on a silver thimble that is covered in tarnish. I cooked it for 5 minutes then brushed it with toothpaste. A huge amount of the tarnish was gone. I will repeat that cycle until it's clean. I'm looking forward to cleaning some of my found relics this WInter.
